אחרי למעלה מעשר שנים של תולעים, חברת Team17 המטורפת מוציאה אלינו את המשחק-אשר-נקרא-רביעי-בסדרה (אבל בעצם, הוא כבר השביעי, אם מחשיבים את Armageddon, World Party ו-Fort). התולעים כבר היו משחק אסטרטגיה בזמן-אמת, משחק פינבול, משחק דמוי טטריס ועוד ועוד, אבל כולנו תמיד אהבנו את המקור - אותה משחקיות לא שפויה בתורות, בחדוות בתינו, שבה יכולנו לבחור צבא של תולעים וכלי נשק מוטרפים ולפוצץ את אויבנו (וכל מה שסביבם) עד אפר.

המשחק-אשר-נקרא-שלישי-בסדרה, Worms 3D, העביר את כל הסדרה לתלת-ממד מרהיב לעין והחברה הולכת לשמור על כך גם ב-Worms 4: Mayhem, אם כי הוא יחזור למקורות הטובים ויתעלם מהשינויים והקריצות לכיוון משחקיות האסטרטגיה בזמן-אמת שביצע Fort. במשחק החדש נוכל לצפות לכלי נשק חדשים (כגון חיצים מורעלים, שוורים הנוחתים מהאוויר, וכו'), שלל מפות חדשות וכמובן גרפיקה טובה מאי פעם והמון הומור. השחקן יוכל לעצוב סוף סוף כלי נשק חדשים ולהוסיף אותם לארסנל (או, זה צריך להיות מטורף לגמרי!) המנוע התלת-ממדי שופר, ונוסף גם קמפיין סיפורי לשחקן יחיד, תוספת מוזרה ומעניינת (אך בהחלט בעלת פוטנציאל!) לסדרה. זה תמיד כיף לראות שהסדרות הטובות באמת לא מתות, אלא רק משתבחות עם השנים.

The multiplayer mayhem and single-player shenanigans are spread over five themed zones - Jurassic, Camelot, Arabian, Construction and Wild West – and, throughout the enlarged landscapes, the entirely destructible scenery works with even greater effect, along with the much-loved worms' armoury - now with an even bigger choices of weapons and fun along the way.

In single-player modes there’s even more beyond the day-to-day business of destroying worms. Through the 25 missions, you’re also charged with objectives such as recovering items or smashing scenery. All the single-player maps are available to play in multiplayer mode, along with a further set of 20 multiplayer-specific maps.

With bold levels, an improved 3D camera and animation system, a stunning arsenal delivering comedy kabooms, the loveable, customisable, yet entirely destructible, worms are back in force with Worms 4: Mayhem.
