Burnout 3 is at its best when it focuses on the elements that separate it from other arcade-style racers. The time trials, duel races, and grand prix series just aren't as fun as the ones geared towards mayhem. Fortunately, given the way the game is designed, you can indulge in these modes as much as you want. And even when you don't, the rules, if you will, remain the same: i.e., there's nothing stopping you from indulging in some vehicular manslaughter when you could be racing all sporting-like. Factor in an online multiplayer suite that works marvelously for both versions, and you have something resembling that elusive "complete package." It's hard to believe.
Anyway, if I haven't yet made it abundantly clear, here it is: Burnout 3: Takedown is likely the best arcade racer ever made. It's easily the best one released this generation, and it will be hard to beat in the coming one. You all had best recognize.
